One draw-back: it took 19 hours to do one disc. It preserved the layer break of the original, pressed disc and I was able to burn it to a +R DL using Nero or CopytoDVD (can remember which) with no problems. I was able to convert a 2 hour dual-layer DVD from PAL with ease.

This is their URL: It's $50 American, but has a 21 day trial which is plenty of time to burn a few discs. (Why there isn't just one is beyond me falls under the same category as, "why is there just one telephone number format?") Most importantly, though, it converts discs easily from one "standard" to another. It does many, many other video and audio related tasks (ripping CDs, converting video formats from one to the other, etc). I found a program called Blaze Media Pro. Thus, I too had the same problem of converting PAL -> NTSC.

However, if you’d like to speak with someone about this, feel free to contact our customer support team.I ordered my father a PAL disc from overseas that did not have CSS or any other so-called "copy protection" bs, so there was nothing in US law preventing my making a copy of it for him to watch on his HDTV (my Old Man, God bless him, still can't program the VCR). Of this small percentage of film reels that do have a sound line, an even smaller percentage of these used the proper recording equipment required to capture both the sound and picture.īecause these instances are so rare, and to ensure we’re providing the highest quality transfers, it is not our standard process to digitize film with sound. In rare instances, 8mm and Super 8 film may contain magnetic audio lines and 16mm film may contain magnetic, but more commonly optical, sound lines. In our experience, 99% of film was recorded as silent.
Please note that it is not our standard process to digitize film with sound. As film reels are generally short, our DVDs combine as many digitized reels as possible onto a disc.
